Sep. 28th, 2005 12:15 pmI'm so proud! My washing machine has taken its first shaky steps across the kitchen.
...
Well. I'd be a whole lot more proud if it was a child and not the washing machine. *sigh* I'm wondering if it'll be cheaper to just replace the damn thing. It's old, and it was free, and while I can put up with a huge amount of noise in the spin cycle, I'm not prepared to tolerate it walking across the floor. There's water underneath it too, which everyone keeps attributing to a faulty door seal, but I'm not so sure about that. If it was just the door seal at fault, then surely the water would be coming from the front of the machine. Only a little comes from there, the bulk of the water is pooling much further back underneath.
Ho hum. I guess researching washing machines and trying to find our rental DVDs will keep me busy for a while. At least I won't sit and obsessively hit refresh while waiting for the Rockfic upgrade to happen!
ETA.
rockfic! There are Halloween icons here! I know how you like to decorate early ;)

Date: 2005-09-28 01:15 pm (UTC)Our washer used to 'walk' until the Hubby put a couple small slivers of wood under the front feet and I quit using the 'fast' cycle to spin water out of the clothes. It seems to do a better job on 'slow', IMO.
