Happy Midsummer's Day!

Today is the Summer Solstice--which caught me by surprise this year--and therefore also Midsummer's Day. Puck will undoubtably be causing scenes of sordid chaos in his woods today, as will the revellers at Stonehenge.

I'd go dance naked in the garden... but I'd have to cut the grass first.

Staying awake to greet the dawn this morning would have been the traditional thing to do... dancing around a bonfire tonight is also fairly standard. Candles are just fine though :)

I can still do something to night? :D Awesome. Too bad they outlawed bonfires in backyards... But, hey, I think they're still good to go at the beach.

Actually, here in Puerto Rico we have a celebration called St. John's Day, coming up this 24th. People camp out at the beach, then, at midnight, they dive into the water backwards. For luck. I read in a holistic magazine a few days ago that this is actually tied to Midsummer's Night festivities. So: Yei, something to look forward to.
