Happy Midsummer's Day!
Jun. 21st, 2005 01:13 pmToday is the Summer Solstice--which caught me by surprise this year--and therefore also Midsummer's Day. Puck will undoubtably be causing scenes of sordid chaos in his woods today, as will the revellers at Stonehenge.
I'd go dance naked in the garden... but I'd have to cut the grass first.

Date: 2005-06-21 04:48 pm (UTC)Actually, here in Puerto Rico we have a celebration called St. John's Day, coming up this 24th. People camp out at the beach, then, at midnight, they dive into the water backwards. For luck. I read in a holistic magazine a few days ago that this is actually tied to Midsummer's Night festivities. So: Yei, something to look forward to.

Date: 2005-06-21 06:38 pm (UTC)And I, too, would have to mow the lawn before dancing, sky-clad or regular-clad. Which I should do, anyway. (Mow the lawn, not dance sky-clad. ;))
