I'm still on a rampage through the Firefly fandom, so here, for your reading pleasure, are some more fic recs. Spoilers for Serenity are marked. Oh--most of these will be Mal/Jayne stories as my crazy brain loves them together. Also, take it as read that these will be NC-17 rated. I'm lazy :P
Right by Eleanor K. is awesome. I bounced and squeed until I coughed and the sofa creaked. Mal's unspoken acquiescence and Jayne's um... cockiness (sorry) are fabulous.
Fifty Credits is the sequel to Right and is a worthy successor. Mal can be such a delicious bastard. Bless 'im.
The Test of Living by
ruric. Mal/Jayne. Impressive. Very, very impressive. The characterisations are deep and the reader is forced to think, which is always a good thing.
This is such an awesome line: Because Jayne couldn't ever stop trying Mal's authority any more than he could stop breathing, and if he did Mal would worry that something was seriously wrong. It sums up the pairing perfectly, I think.
No Regrets by
randominity. Spoilers up to and through Serenity. Mal/Jayne. Hmm. This is a very short story, and it's hard to really say why I liked it so much without being all spoilery, so I'll just say this: Jayne doesn't want any regrets....
Tears by Proxy by
poisontaster. Spoilers for Serenity. Gen. This is hard-hitting. When I first read it, I cried. Tonight it came over as a very grey and numb story Perfectly done, I think. I think
anavrinny first rec'd this a couple of months back. Thanks, Julie!
