Today has been a very lazy day. So far, I've woken up, gone out to lunch (mmmmm chocolate brownie sundae with real whipped cream!), and formatted a manuscript. I'm not planning on doing anything terribly energetic with the rest of the day, either. Oh, hang on! I put a lot of effort into coming up with a penname for myself--meet "Kurt Miller". That seems energetic enough to last me for the rest of the day.

Completely OT, but does anyone know how to persude Open Office to centre a single character (on an otherwise blank line) without centering all the other text in the document? I'm going insane here! Ahh, I've kludged it, but if anyone knows the Proper Way to do it, I'd be really grateful.

My musi are still on holiday, damn and blast them! Other than that, I have nothing interesting to say today.

I keep wondering why Kurt is such a popular name in English speaking countries.

I have no idea. I suspect I've been reading too much X-Men in the last week!

Ah yes, Kurt Wagner.

Hehe, there's a plumber's shop in my town which I usually come by when I do my work-out. Guess the name? Kurt Wagner, lol! (which is not really a surprise as Kurt Wagner is a quite common name in Germany)

Heh :) I had no idea it was a popular name! Is it the German equivalent of John Smith? I think I just plucked two names out of nowhere and smushed them together and that was the result. Now that I think about it, there might even have been a Dr Miller at some point in X-Men canon. Whoops!

Wagner is a very common last name in southern Germany. Kurt is cosidered a bit old-fashioned, however there are a couple of little Kurts running around since Kurt Cobain offed himself. Hardly any new Kurts today, though, lol.

Have you figured it out yet?

Is this single character in a separate paragraph? *scratches head*

It is a separate paragraph - it's just a # symbol which you're supposed to centre on a new line to signify a scene change in a manuscript (I am really beginning to wonder why I want to go through the agony of trying to get published!).

I kludged it by copying and pasting it from a new document into the manuscript. I'm still wondering why it won't just center the one character by highlighting and then either clicking the toolbar or right-clicking and working from that menu *rolls eyes wildly*

P.S. The Superbowl sucks. Dave has been torturing me with it.
