Oooh, I am steaming mad.

My brother--may his scheming mind rot--has had my parents bring him my Chronicles of Narnia books. Old editions. I think they were the very first paperback editions, actually. The key word here, is my.

With the Narnia film coming in December, it seems that he has decided to try and make a swift bit of money off my book collection. More fool him--they're devalued by having my eight year-old scribbed name on the inside of the cover. But still, they're my books! I trawled round jumble sales to get as many as I could with the same cover art style, and my parents have given them to him without so much as a thought to me.

I now want to race up to Scotland and rescue the rest of my books. I'm really quite upset about this :(

I don't blame you. :( That was very not nice of your parents and especially not nice of your brother because he must know full well they're not his to sell.

Yeargh, that sucks! You have every right to be angry - that was very rude. They're YOUR books! WTF?

I think it's just thoughtlessness on my parents part. I want to go and protect the rest of my books--I shudder to think how much it would cost to replace them all, especially with the first editions tucked amongst the regular dross on the shelves.

I'm still raging about it. I should call my brother and screech :(

Excuse me, he sold your books?!

Oh god, I think I would want to kill him. I mean, my brother is like the Bermuda Triangle and everything he ever gets his hands on simply disappears. But at least he doesn't sell my shit, he just loses it in his fucking mess.

But this reminded me that I wanted to read the Narnia books before the movie. I guess, the times is too short, lol.

Excuse me, he sold your books?!

I have no idea if he's sold them yet, but my parents took them to him this week when they visited him. I doubt he'll be able to get much for them--children don't think about the value of books when they scribble on 'em--but it's the principle of the thing!

You should read the books! I'd start with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as that was written first, and it's the book which C.S. Lewis always said readers should start with. Chronologically, The Magician's Nephew is the real beginning of the Narnia series, but it's cheating to read it first!

Oh my God. Ang - he stilll lives? What a horrible thing to do. I don't blame you for want to go up and get them. Hell, I don't I would have even taken the time to write about, just done it. Jesus, and the timing...what a piece of work.

I'm not happy, to say the least. I knew I was territorial about books, but I didn't expect to find myself howling "Mine" in my head for the rest of the evening.

If I could sleep, I'd dream happy dreams of having floor to ceiling bookcases and all my books snuggled up--alphabetically--on the shelves.

Bastard! Kill him now!

Seriously, that is just not on. Your parents suck in so many ways. And yes, ring him up and screech. Make a huge fuss. What a horrible, horrible thing to do to you, the little shit. *Is incoherent*

You're about as incoherent as I was last night, babe! I'm still fuming over it, but I guess I'll have to talk to him when I've got a little more free time to scream properly.

Bastards, the lot of them. *sigh*
