Crazy angst.

Urgh.

I know I need to make appointments to view houses. I really do. But, I'm terrified of phoning letting agents. Maybe terrified isn't quite the right word, but I'm not sure what is. Which also sucks, as my vocabulary should be better than this. Plus, I shouldn't be scared of them. They're probably earning 12k, spotty, and have a brain only slightly larger than an amoeba.

Plus, the Bristol First Bus website is completely unhelpful. It's impossible to tell which roads buses go along from their route map, and we really need to know what roads the buses go along, so that we can consider whether a house is viable or not. Dave wants to take the bus to work. And I'd quite like to be on a bus route in case I fail my driving test. So, argh to that too. And I can't remember why Overndale Road is significant. Is it on the number 6 route? It is ringing a bell.

And I forgot to send Dave off with a tape-measure, so he won't be able to measure up rooms and doorways--presuming I actually get up the courage to call and speak to strangers. Being able to get your shit through the front door is always helpful, and we only just managed it with this house.

Have I mentioned how much I fucking hate house-hunting?

I don't like much calling places where I don't know who'll answer the phone and what they might ask. But in the end it turns out half as scary most of the times. What helps me is imagining them as they sit in front of their phone dreading who might be calling and what they might want, lol. Of course, they don't, but it helps me.

Talking of that couldn't you call Bristol First Bus or email them your request?

I'm pretty sure they sell tape-measures in Bristol too, don't you think?

And don't you even think of not passing your driving test!

It's just fustrating... I used to be highly competent and could call anyone, ask for anything, and more often than not get what I wanted. And now that I'm out of a corporate setting, I hate calling anyone and feel dreadful for asking about anything.

I am a big wuss.

I've called two estate agents and the houses that they had, are either gone, or they want people in before the 25th August. It's going to be a long process as we're looking so early.
