Today I managed to turn out 200 decent words on Fire and Ice. I quite liked them, and madandy approved of them too, so that's all good. I'm now about half-way through the chapter, although the rest is mapped out. Why is it that the first two chapters are always the easiest? Bah.

I think I'm going to be trying to force myself to write 1000 words a day. Even if I have to sit there and type, "I don't have a fucking clue what comes next and I wish I'd never imposed this rule on myself" over and over again, I'll hopefully end up writing something useful. If I'm lucky it'll actually be for the story I intended to write. My mind has a terrible habit of conjuring up new ideas in order to avoid finishing the old ones.

I know the feeling, Ang. I have so many ideas. However, I won't let myself write a single one until STEPS and BRAWL are done.

I have the same problem - I have many ideas for things that I think would make good movies, books, games, philosophical principles, but when it comes to the implementation stage, I only get as far as starting to document them when I get an even better idea and start over again.

I'm so jaded about the whole creative process now I just don't bother :p
