# We saw Batman Begins this morning. It was fabulous! I take back all my reservations about Christian Bale being too... slight... to play Batman. He has The Voice too!

# I bought The Starter Marriage by Kate Harrison yesterday. It's my second attempt at enjoying chick-lit and so far it's going very well. I'm quite surprised. I think the difference between this book and others that I've tried is the characters. So far they're all well drawn and likeable. And they feel real! Plus, I've been reading Kate's blog for a little while and like her :) I suspect that helps.

# Upgraded to a paid LJ. Mmmm... icon goodness.

# I'm beta-ing some excellent fic, which is making me want to tackle my own reluctant!fic.

# Buying whisky with Dave is amusing. Choosing a bottle based on pretty packaging and price was a shock to my system. Still, at least he didn't succumb to the lure of the revolting Highland Park (it has a decidedly seaweed influenced taste and smell). Despite it's pretty box. A Scot shouldn't be subjected to such trauma! Still, could be worse... we could have been buying rum.

I love rum.

I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed Batman Begins. I'm trying to schedule Mark and I to go see it sometime this already-hectic weekend.

I love rum too. My views on what makes good rum are rather stronger than my views on whisky, so thank god we weren't shopping for that!

Batman Begins is one of the best comic translations I've ever seen. Only Spider-Man was better. The feel of Gotham was perfect. And there were a few cameo appearances which made us happy. They were a bit heavy-handed in places, but overall--excellent.

I found Gotham a bit too modern for my liking... A cross between this one and the Tim Burton one would have been good... But then the underground Gotham was great - and the monorail was cooo!

I must say I love your Snoopy icon, Ang! Snoopy is a childhood hero of mine :-)

I'm anxious to see Batman Begins. I think I'm going to take my dad for Father's Day. It's the type of thing we like to do as a family. My mother will enjoy it, too. Bale is great! Loved American Psycho.

I'm not a fan of chicklit myself, but I'm always interested in breaking away from the traditional stuff I read. Let me know how the book progesses and maybe I'll pick it up. We should have our own book club!

Thanks Yvie! I was Snoopy crazy when I was about eight--right down to Snoopy pillowcases and wellington boots :)

You'll really enjoy Batman, I think. We're both huge fans, and I was quite anxious as I'd avoided all the production information and didn't really know what they were doing with it. I still prefer the Alfred from the Tim Burton films--Michael Caine is a bit too bulky for me to really take to him as Alfred. But yes, go and see it ASAP!

Congrats for the paid account. I like the blue-ish layout.

So Batman Begins is worthwhile watching? Hmm, just have to find someone who'll go with me then, lol.

I thought Dave is a Scot. How come he chooses whiskey by the prettiness of the box it comes in? I'm devastated!

Thank-you!

Batman Begins should be mandatory viewing for anyone with even a passing interest in Batman. I only wish that they had aimed for a 15 rating (it's got a 12A certificate in the UK), but I'm fond of ultraviolence in films.

I'm the Scot--Dave is thoroughly English ;) Hence needing my advice about whisky (whiskey with an 'e' is Irish Whiskey, which is horrible). Alas, as he didn't know whether his dad was a whisky connoisseur, the choice came down to prettiness and price. Still what we ended up with looks... reasonable. And has a very pretty box and bottle.

Irish Whiskey, which is horrible

Kirk and I decided to not argue with you about that. ;)

I'm disgustingly envious of your Calvin&Hobbes icons. Just thought of letting you know. :)

Calvin & Hobbes was the comic book phase I moved into right after Snoopy. I couldn't resist adding some--it's actually been really hard to find icons that I love. Maybe I didn't need 50 after all!

Calvin&Hobbes is my childhood. And my teenage. And, probably, my adulthood. :D Ah, the times me and Dani start quoting to strips out of the blue...

Yeah, 50 are a lot, thinking about it...if I ever had a paid account, I'd spend all day glued to photostudio, forgetting to eat/drink/wash...;) I'm such an icon whore...

Alas, I only have one Calvin & Hobbes book now. The rest are still in Scotland with my parents. One day I'll have to brave my dust-filled room and pack my books. God, what a scary thought! Anyway, I'll have to re-read it tomorrow :D

I suppose I should look for some Tallica icons....

You may regret saying that! Would you be able to make me an animated GIF from these (http://www.livejournal.com/community/dreamyicons/855130.html#cutid1)? I can't decide whether I want it to say Ang or Angela, though. But I could definitely do with changing my main icon and an erotic icon is waaay too good to pass up! *flutters eyelashes* Pretty please, with whipped cream and cherry on top.

Oh, no probs! Tomorrow (because I'm knackered and going to bed...)you'll have your erotic name icons, miss!

Just back from seeing Batman! Woah. I love Batman - it was my favourite comic as a kid/teen and it didn't disappoint. Will discuss it will you at a future point online to save spoilers here! :D

Plus... I do wine by labels! Whisky is different though ;)

Ignore me. I'd just be tempted to drink it with Irn Bru :P

It was fabulous, wasn't it? I need to watch it again--reading reviews of it has made me realise that I completely missed some cameos. Which is highly embarassing considering how many Batman graphic novels we have on the shelves here.

I may not drink a lot these days... but I still take it seriously when buying it. I usually take a note of the wine if I particularly enjoyed it. Same with whisky. And for rum, well... the only rum worth drinking is Mt. Gay rum from Barbados, and for cocktails Bacardi is acceptable. Whisky and Irn Bru sounds horrible. Having said that... isn't Southern Comfort a form of whisky?

It makes me feel all bouncy and yaay. I took a printout of some red-haired people to the hairdresser. Hurrah for Jane Goldman :D

Thank-you! Although, so far everything I've done with it is actually possible with a free account--I mainly wanted the icons :P Oh, and I grabbed the colours from the support community too as they were up for grabs and gorgeous.

I'll fiddle further once I decide whether I really want a header image or not.

+ Rick shall refrain from commenting on Batman Begins.

+ Paid account. :D That explains the [possibly] "Can Can" icon. Wohoo!

+ Buying whisky with me would be amusing too, being as I have absolutely no idea what's what or why or where. Jack Daniel's: That's where my whisky knowledge stops. xD

Each part of the letter is made up of two naked bodies. It's a bit hard to see, unless you already know what it is :)

I saw the naked bodies, I just failed to notice it was a G and not a C. xD I didn't immediately catch onto the bent elbows.

It's one cool icon.

I... erm. I'm not big on superhero movies, no. For the most part, I think they're more FX than anything else. And I just can't like movies where buildings, trains, cars, etc. are willfully destroyed by the hero just so that he can capture one villain. I mean, there are people in there. It's not like Gotham's buildings are empty, is it? :/ But that's just me.
