Well *finally*!

In reading
fanficrants and
deleterius entries, I've often stumbled across people saying that fic's have been MSTd. It's taken me months to figure out what they mean by MST, but finally I've managed it!
Mystery Science Theater.
*beams proudly*
In my defense, I've only ever seen part of one episode and I think it was also parodied in a film once? It only clicked when I started reading an entry over at
deu_sex_machina which started in a dark theatre, as usual.
Well. This is a promising start to the week, isn't it? All neurons firing appropriately!

Date: 2005-03-29 10:23 am (UTC)I now have urges to do MST for RPS fics. That should be good for a laugh. You think guys cry lots in bad Harry Potter fic... the grown men in (bad, of course) rock-band RPS spend most of their lives crying!!

Date: 2005-03-29 11:30 am (UTC)The only RPS I ever read was er... LOTR *whimper* which sent me flailing right out of that fandom ;P
Maybe I could try again on a NON-insane group ;)

Date: 2005-03-29 11:43 am (UTC)I've read a little LOTR RPS. Some absolutely dire (I know Orlando is a stupid name, but Orli is an even stupider nickname) and some rather good. I um, can't resist RPS which involves Sean Bean. Mmmmm Sean....
If you ever get the urge to read about your favourite rockbands getting it on together then give me a shout :P Hell, I can probably find someone to rec popslash. We're insane, but insane in a very well written way!!

Date: 2005-03-29 12:45 pm (UTC)Well!
Season Seven of Buffy ruined Angel/Buffy for me. I have a few WIP I still read that are Buffy/Spike (
Then just browsing, I found a lot of -good- HP stuff. I've read the books, but I'm not a die-hard fan, I lurk on the edges and find the good stuff ;)
Hehe, you mean you managed to avoid all the RPS Elijah/Billy/Dom stuff? ;P
There are some crrrrazy people out there who are rabid, which really put me off the whole thing ;)
Uh, I'll think about the RPS recs, have to think and see if there is a band that appeals ;)
Oh, have you read GAFF? It has a recommendations section that is every genre under the sun -- I've seen some band/rps stuff there.
Also reading the "new releases" section is great if you are bored and have a strong stomach ;)

Date: 2005-03-29 03:37 pm (UTC)Happy days.
Yes! I managed successfully to avoid the Elijah/Billy/Dom stuff. Alas, I'm not so interested in the hobbitses--although, Sam and Frodo were definitely shagging--I perked up whenever Viggo or Sean came on screen. From what I saw of the LOTRps fandom, everyone vehmently believed that the cast spent three years in New Zealand shagging each other instead of the sheep. Crazy people.
I haven't come across GAFF before. I can see me wasting hours upon hours going through the archive in case I've turned up there. I didn't spot any band RPS thus far, but I've only skimmed. People there need to work on their subject lines *nodnods*

Lets see...
Days of our Unlives is both funny, h0t, and a never finished WIP.
Manhattan Nocturne - The ever amazing
That's off the top of my head, lemme know if you likey ;)

Date: 2005-03-29 04:26 pm (UTC)I used to watch Mystery Science Theatre 3000 every Saturday when they were playing it on the Sci-Fi channel. My dad, however, hated it as he thought that the movies that they were reviewing could be watchable "if the shadows down in front would stop talking." Yeah, I told him he was missing the point. ^_^ It's how my friends and I watch bad movies or T.V. shows though. It makes them hilarious. Also, James Bond movies, while not particularly bad, are very fun to do this to.
GAFF and Fandom Wank, too are awesome if lately having some issues over the quality of posts and posters...
