More house stuff (skip if bored :P)
Aug. 3rd, 2005 09:47 amOkay, so the house that Dave viewed this morning ticks all the ticky-boxes other than buses into town--the bus stop near the house only has one bus per day into the city centre, but oddly enough has half-hourly buses to Westbury. You'd think they'd go through the city centre, but no! They meander through almost every suburb in N.Bristol, but would be handy for visiting Vicky in the daytime.
Anyway, I've just called the agency and told them that we want to proceed with this house (new build, ensuite to master bed, our bed will fit, broadband, garage to store cooker, furniture will fit through door, tiny lawn to take care of). The house that I talked about yesterday is just too much of a risk. The owner of that property confirmed that her cat is 14 years old and has lived there all his life, but she says that he's an outdoors cat who only comes in to eat and that her brother never has a problem when he visits (yes, but is he sleeping there on a looong visit?). Even so... I can't take that risk and I feel awful that my treacherous body has let me down once more. It really was a beautiful property.
So, now I'm just sitting and waiting for phone calls to find out if the landlord is happy for us to proceed with the property and whether the other viewers want it. Which is nerve-wracking.
Huh. I've just realised that I'll have to keep a tidy house when in Bristol. I get a feeling that a lot of people will be dropping in to see us, now that they can.

Oh-so fucking true.

Still no word from letting agency. This sort of shit really isn't good for a control freak. If I can do a mock driving test under this stress, then I deserve a licence....
Yet another meme
Aug. 3rd, 2005 12:28 pmCan you tell that I'm nervous and fretting away the hours? Yet another meme; this one is a bit more interactive though.
