I have triumphed over the doctors receptionist and finally managed to get an appointment (admittedly at the end of surgery and the chemist will be shut by the time I'm seen)! There is something to be said for bursting into tears. Manipulative, yes. Successful, yes!!

It's not normally this hard to get an appointment. Usually I can ring up at 10am and get seen the same day or the next at the latest. I've been trying to get one since last Monday. Maybe the village has some sort of epidemic going on?

Anyway. Tomorrow my eyes will be happy again. I can't fucking wait.

*claps* Yay! That's odd that they're so backed up all of the sudden.

Yet when I walked into the surgery it was practically empty. Ah well, I have my prescription. And we had a chat about babies. I feel a little more cheerful.

I feel your pain with making a doctors appointment! The health centre over here is ridiculous. I tried to make an appointment in the middle of October, and they were fully booked until mid-November! They don't offer the 'call before 10am' service, but if you desperately need to see a doctor you are welcome to sit for God-knows how long until the doctor on duty gets through their stack of patients. I had to wait for two and a half hours.

Oh god, I remember those days. It was exactly the same when I was a student. You could be dying and you'd still have to queue.

Still, I have a prescription! And it's now a repeat prescription so I never need to have this hassle again. At least, not where my eyes are concerned.

Same problem up here :(
But if you go "Isn't there aaaaaaaaanyone who will seeee meeee?" And sound really ill on the phone, they'll probably find some doctor or other that has 5 minutes. Usually if you want an appointment first or last thing, you have to book about 2 weeks in advance :(

*huggles*

Tears and a promise that I'd really only be five minutes worked here. And I would have been! If the doctor hadn't asked me about babies. Still, if I don't get pregnant by September, then he'll refer me for fertility treatment to speed things up. Which is nice.

Now, where did I leave my sex drive? *sigh*

I'm glad you got an appointment at last. I'm lucky with my family doctor: she serves first in first out, so if I need to see a doctor I just go there and wait until it is my turn. Usually I don't have to wait for much longer than 30 or 45 minutes.

Wow, I've never come across that system. Sounds like a good idea to me!!
