If I find "growing bulge" one more time in this piece I'm editing or in any more of my fics, then I may shoot myself. Today has been spent editing, sleeping and generally being sickly. I need to remember that three-course meals really fuck with my body. Either a starter or a dessert; never shall I have all three again. Unless it's a French restaurant with nice small portions.

Dave is either still at work, or on his way home. He's about to miss the second part of Supervolcano, which he'll be upset about. I see that the BBC has pulled (for a second time) another cataclysmic drama, as they feel that two catrastrophic natural disaster portrayals in one month is insensitive to the tsnuami survivors. Must say that I hadn't heard of the second one. Ahh, apparently it features a tsnuami vs New York. Yes, that probably wouldn't go down well.

My science experiment (sourdough starter) is going pretty well. I've called it George. Hopefully it'll be mature and active enough for me to attempt a small loaf at the weekend. Ouch, a bunch of scientists just got cooked alive by the first blast of ash/pumice etc from the supervolcano. Time to pay attention....

Let me know about George. You know how I am with science experiments :)

I'll be sure to keep you updated :) Once he grows up big and strong (i.e. fills a 750ml jar when left to grow overnight), I'll post a picture of him to my blog :D

Och, listen to me... "him". I'm feeling maternal over a jar of yeast :P

*rolls eyes* As if changing the TV programs would help the tsunami victims one iota. And as if they'd give a fuck about the movies British TV shows.

Congrats on your sourdough starter. When I was a child I had one that went by the name of Heinrich. :D

I can only assume that it's to avoid upsetting the UK relatives of people who died. Still, it looks promising, and I'll definitely watch it when it comes out :)

Is Heinrich still alive?

Heinrich survived about two years and had a couple of "children", living with some of my friends. I think two years is quite a long time, considered that I was only 13 when I got him. :D

Two years is pretty damn good! George will be lucky to make it to two weeks, before going down the sink. Hopefully he'll view it as an adventure.

If you wanted something mature in a week, you should have named it Georgina.

I think the natural disaster drama could go either way. It could be upsetting to some who lost loved ones (and those people shouldn't watch it) and cathartic to others who lost loved ones.

Sorry you're not feeling well. :(

Ah yes. That would explain why it isn't doubling or tripling as the schedule says it should be. I just assumed that the house wasn't warm enough for it.

As for not feeling well--completely self-inflicted. IBS and three-course meals do NOT mix. Plus, I've been forgetting to drink my friendly bacteria recently. I'm sure that hasn't helped. In good news, my eyes are less sore this week!

"Growing bulge" is one of those pesky phrases that sneak into a story when you are not looking. I've had a couple of those myself. So to speak :).

Good luck with George.

I'm relieved to hear that you've only had metaphorical bulges.

George is very lethargic. He's supposed to be doubling in size overnight, but is currently just bubbling a little. I don't understand--he doubled happily at the beginning!
