Yes! Use a local company. Small company = reputation to lose quite easily if they screw up. Also more ethical I guess.
I put posts on my local freecycle going "can anyone recommend a good such-and-such" - this is how i found my great plasterers (who were doing a homer and did it on their wednesday afternoon off from the council). Great job they did too.
