Dec. 27th, 2006 07:46 amOn a scale of one to ten... how shit are the shops going to be today?
I have to nip out to buy Lucas some more formula milk and ideally I'd like to pick up a pair of hair straighteners, too. Maybe I should just go out now and wait for the shops to open? Although, that's hardly fair on the wee man.
Christmas was excellent! I have all the James Bond books to read and fall in love with once again, thanks to my lovely Dave. I've also had a couple of nights where Dave's done the early morning feed, leaving me to snooze in peace. Bless him, he's awesome :D I still have my tattoo to come, which I'm still looking forward to but worrying a little about spots on my arm. I bet they'll hurt. Lucas adopted a wild dolphin for me, too :) Very thoughtful of him!
I'm also particularly pleased that Dave didn't manage to guess my present to him in the slightest. He usually comes pretty close with guessing but I foxed him this year! He got the complete Babylon 5 Universe boxset, which is actually pretty awesome (and very heavy, too). Great packaging and I love that each season comes in its original boxset instead of it being just a row of DVDs. There's well over 100 hours to watch, so we'll have to get cracking on that :)
Lucas has done particularly well this Christmas. There's a huge bag of presents in the hall for him and I have no idea where I'm going to put any of it. I'm going to have to find one of those hammock things for his collection of stuffed toys and I think he now needs his own shelf on the bookcase, too.... I'm really looking forward to reading Winnie-the-Pooh to him, and Peter Rabbit, too! Hopefully he'll love them just as much as I did as a nipper.

Glad to hear a good Xmas was had by all!
Get this... I offered to make the soup for xmas day.
My Granda: Whose soup is this? It's good?
Me: No need to pretend it's good, granda
My Granda (genuinely): what? You made it? It's not out of a can? it's goooood
and I thought oh he's just being nice, but apparently not! apparently he had "a conversation" with my mum afterwards and he actually meant it :D
