So, day two of diet. Well, eating healthier. I hopped onto the scales this morning and they broke and found that I am 2lbs lighter than last week. I wonder what I did differently last week?

We went shopping last night and filled the trolley with lots of veggies. fruit and healthy things. Alas, no ice-cream came home with us. I somehow managed to sail past that aisle. I did buy a big bag of very pink rhubarb which I'm going to do something inventive with--I might even do the rhubarb sorbet that I've been threatening for years. Dinner tonight will be a low-fat version of Crispy Duck and pancakes (with plenty of cucumber, spring onion and herbs). Just without the crispiness :P The recipe looks sane, so I'll give it a go--it's duck, how horrible can it turn out? Also being cooked today are a chocolate cheesecake and an apple tea-loaf. Both very virtuous.

I don't think I'll be doing any writing today, I'm developing a nasty headache and I feel about as sexy as a skunk (someone is now bound to tell me that skunks are highly sexual animals), so not ideal for writing smut :P Maybe tomorrow?

Pepé Le Pew! There was one sexy skunk. :D

I love rhubarb! Let me know what you make with it. :) Mark, on the other hand, doesn't like the aftertaste of rhubarb. :( I guess that means more for me!

We went shopping and bought lots of veggies and fruit, too. And somewhere between the checkout lane and home, we lost the grapefruit. :( That was the thing I was looking forward to most. I guess I'll buy it all over again tonight when I go out looking for the Sims expansion pack again.

Sorry to hear about your headache. :( I'll send Jason over to massage your scalp, and James over to keep him from slacking off.

I knew I could count on you :P

Rhubarb is gorgeous! I love this time of year purely for the rhubarb :D If you need any rhubar inspiration, Nigella Lawson has many recipes that use it. She's as barmy over rhubarb as I am :)

You didn't need James and Jason back soon, did you? They're a little... tired at the moment. I'd hate to ship them back in bad condition!

Keep them as long as you need to. I don't really need them for the editing of "Green."

The duck sounds very tasty. And healthy. Yay for the two pounds less; I keep my fingers crossed it's a trend. :D

Thanks Brigitte :) The headache is mostly gone, although I have very 'swimmy' eyes still. I hope that disappears before I have to drive tomorrow.

Hehe, the first words that popped into my head with the phrase 'Sexy Skunk' were Pepe Le Pew as well! Don't suppose you might want to pop the duck recipe over my way please? I could really do with doing more healthy eating. And it sounds delicious.

I was most pleased with myself at the supermarket yesterday as I restrained myself from buying sweet, fatty foods and bought yoghurt, fruit (lots of that), salad, and cream cheese and crackers. Go me.

I shall PM you the recipe Kate :) Sounds like you had a good trip to the supermarket too--good thing since it sounds like you're pretty snowbound today!

I did say it was without the crispy aspect :P Its basically duck breasts (skinless) griddled until rare, then finished off in a pan sauce. Then you slice 'em up, and serve with pancakes etc as per usual.

Having just eaten, I can tell you that it does taste like peking duck, just without the crispy aspect. Bloody gorgeous, even if it does use half the sauces in my cupboard in the marinade/sauce.

I forgot to say that I DO have a crispy duck recipe which is lower-fat. Alas, it involves roasting a duck for about five hours. I lack the patience to try it out. (Plus, I'd have to buy a V-shaped rack and I don't have the cupboard space for more kitchen stuff!)
