Dave and I now own a house!!!

How fucking cool/scary is that? I can now look forward to the move on Monday and then some sort of housewarming party. I figure I can supply plenty of booze since I haven't been drinking--unpacking one box gets you one glass of wine....

I cannot believe that I own a house. Wow.

Congratulations, Ang! I didn't realize it was so close. Have you been repacking al this time or did you even get a chance to unpack from the last move?

We're paying the removals people to pack. Due to Dave's schedule he wouldn't be able to do much packing and there's no way that I can move a filled box right now, so we splashed out. (We do have a room with about 20 boxes of still packed books, though.)

If all goes to plan, I should only be offline for a day and a half. Of course, I then have to do curtain shopping and suchlike. And figure out an efficient way to organise the kitchen....

Decorating is the fun part. Good on you for paying them to pack, it makes sense. I had the movers pack my books when I moved here. I figured that since they were the ones having to carry them, it was better for them to determine what constitute an acceptable weight and size. It costs more, but it's well worth it.

It's a bit of a scary thing, buying a house, but in the long run it is so worth it. When we closed on our place last January, it was wonderful. No one can pitch us out, we can paint the walls dayglo pink, whatever!
