Wednesday of Woe (in descending order) and an attempt to find a silver lining.

* Dave's car broke down. On the plus side, it was right before the tight, elevated section of the motorway. I think he would have spontaneously combusted from sheer embarrassment if he'd broken down up there. Few folks like to star on the traffic news.

* Dave is now thoroughly oily after pushing the car, so has to somehow buy a new pair of trousers before work.

* About two hours for the car to be recovered. No courtesy cars available. Hello, Mr Train! (Guess who isn't fond of trains? I don't think any of us trust them after Paddington....)

* I'm not pregnant. Again.

* My toe is killing me. I should probably go get a cortisone injection or something, but you're practically taking your life into your own hands if you go to a doctor's surgery in Flu Season.

* I burnt my mouth on a hot carrot last night, and now everything tastes weird.

There's got to be a silver lining somewhere, right? *rummages around*

* Dave's alive, if a little oily. No high-speed breakdown this time, and at least he's in a relatively safe place to be broken down.

* I'm alive, too, if a little irritable. At least I've got no period pain for once.

* There's no chance of me over-eating today!

You know what... I think I'll wait until the evening before looking at my novel again. Probably for the best :P

I burnt my mouth on French fries the night before last, then last night Mark and I had Mexican. Copious amounts of salsa + a burnt tongue = misery. I think blisters developed. (But the French fries? omg worth it. The salsa? omg worth it.)

Yeah, I have blisters too. I need to remind myself not to eat anything sharp or acidic for the next few days. Toasted pitta bread definitely falls into the sharp category!!

Dave has resumed his journey to London after a pit stop at the garage. He is now wise in the ways of temporarily fixing a gearbox pump, presuming it is the pump. Alfa's are very hard to diagnose :(
