Random life update
Oct. 7th, 2005 06:45 pm* We saw Serenity last night. I didn't really 'get' Firefly, but I loved the movie. I totally get it now :D
* Read DC's Identity Crisis today and was blown away. What a fantastic plot! (And tear-jerking, too.) Marvel, take note! In fact, the two of you could learn from each other... I'd be a very happy geek if DC got their act together and released graphic novels as quickly as Marvel do, otherwise I'll have to break down and start collecting issues of Batgirl.
* Speaking of geeks, the ones who live at Comic Geek Speak are currently adding to my comic wish-list.
* Finished reading Luck In The Shadows, Lynn Flewelling's first book, as recommended by
nikki_tikki. It's nice to read an author who is consistently good. I really want all of her books now, but they'll have to wait till next month. I have a slew of driving lessons to pay for in the next couple of weeks.
* My diet is going backwards thanks to my period. Damn those hormones!
* Dave bought me series 2 of Hustle, so I shan't be writing tonight. I'll be glued to the TV, enchanted by my favourite grifters.
* And finally, the oven sucks. Despite my best efforts, it didn't manage to brown the kaiser rolls that I spent the afternoon making. *sigh* They look like vampire rolls, all pasty and white. Still, hopefully it'll do a better job on the oven-fried chicken. And with that, I must head back to the kitchen--I'm trying to copycat KFC's yummy chicken burgers, but with a fraction of the fat....

Date: 2005-10-08 03:46 am (UTC)I have such cravings when I have my period... Last time, I raided the pantry and ate Jake's last mini-bag of fruit snacks (which are like gummy bears, only not as good), lol. Fortunately, he never found out ;-)

That makes me happy. I love Firefly. And now I have to go see Serenity, which means braving the bloody cinema... argh...
