The scent of BBQ sauce wafting from the kitchen is driving me insane. At this rate, I'll be sneaking spoonfuls of it, before it ever gets near the pizza base :D

Once I finish all the washing up--why on earth did I ignore it yesterday?--I'm planning to curl up on the sofa and beta a drabble for Kasia, then dip in and out of my order from Amazon which turned up incredibly quickly, once they'd finished printing new copies. I swear, they make their own paper and print their own books... it's the only way I can account for the incredibly slow dispatch times.

In other news, my brother is driving my parents crazy once again. He hasn't bothered to call mum for the past two weeks--I know, normal, right?--after promising that he'd call and let her know when he was re-registered at Uni and also when his neurologist's appointment is. And he's not answering emails, texts or phone calls. So, she's on the point of driving down to Aberdeen and visiting all the hospitals to see if there's a corpse there. Despite this, she's still filled his bank account with money in the blind hope that he really is back at uni, and needs book money.

*sigh*

He's been trying to get a degree for seven years.

In other, other news. Nicholas Cage has named his newborn son Kal-El. Good grief.

BBQ sauce in pizza sauce? That's a new one on me. Tell me how it goes, eh?

Your brother's working on a degree sounds like a roommate I had in college. When I left to go to a 2 year college to get a degree that would give me SOME chance of getting a job that paid more than minimum wage and didn't require me to teach, she was still in school and it took her like 10 years to get her degree. She'd show up for the first couple of weeks of classes, then vanish. I'm glad I didn't have to pay for her education.

And WTF is up with celebrities giving their kids fucked up names? Apple? Rumer? SCOUT?? I thought my choices of baby names (when I toyed with the idea of reproducing for all of 10 seconds) was unusual--Aoife, Aoine, Aerin, Maread, Mare, Cyndrych...all Gaelic names. Wonder if it's something in the water?

Well, to be fair to Nick, his own stage name comes from his admiration for Luke Cage, the superhero. I suppose the kid will go to a special celebrity kids school, so there'll be less chance of his getting laughed at. On the other hand, perhaps Nick has foreseen the destruction of Earth and is preparing to send his son to a safe planet where he can grow up to be their own Superman!

BBQ sauce on pizza is lush. Over here, Dominos will happily put it on your pizza in place of tomato sauce. They do a great Texas BBQ pizza with chunks of chicken, peppers, onions and bacon. My pizza will have a ground beef and onion topping and it's lush!

I don't understand people who give their kids weird names like the ones celebrities give their kids. I mean...give the kid a break! Bad enough that the kid is the child of a celebrity, but adding a weird name to the mix is wrong.

Of course, I had to explain to many people where the name "Una" came from when Vivian Campbell's second daughter was born(it's a Celtic faery's name)...

Oh dear. Can you send me a piece of your pizza? It sounds wonderful...and I just finished lunch. The TX BBQ pizza sounds great too :) I LOOOOOOVE pizza. Too much, sometimes :0

Yeah, it's like they think that their celebrity status requires them to be weird when naming their kids.

A friend of a friend called her daughter Schuyler--it's pronounces like "Skyler", but gee, they already regret that they decided to spell it this way, lol.

Your entries always make me hungry (of course I'm often reading at lunchtime!) The pizza sounds great. Have fun with the Amazon order!

I hope your brother is ok.

It's the curse of being on a diet--I focus on food and everyone else has to put up with it :(
