- casey/zeke:
Ahhhh, Cazey/Zeke or Cake as the young'uns like to call them. This--or rather the possibility--pairing was the best part of The Faculty. The movie was a bit sucky, especially with the cop-out ending, but the majority of the fan fiction exploring this pairing is incredibly good. - comics:
I've been reading comics for years, in one form or another. I started off reading girls comics, progressed through my brother's Transformers comics, Fred Bassett, Hagar the Horrible, Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes and Footrot Flats. (God, I miss Footrot Flats. Must go and Ebay.)
At the ripe old age of 21 I discovered Marvel and DC comics, and spent hours working my way through friends comic collections. Comics aren't just for kids! - erik satie:
Erik Satie was a genius. His Trois Gymnopédie suite, despite his insistence that it wasn't music to listen to, are my favourite pieces of classical music. (Both to play and to listen to.) No. 1 is a layered piece; dolorous yet hopeful.
Beautiful. - food:
Who isn't interested in food? I love cooking and eating food, from the trashy to the very complex and delicate. Food is good. - history:
You have to know where you came from to appreciate where you're going.... - katharine kerr:
Katharine Kerr writes the quite wonderful Deverry books. They were my first introduction to epic fantasy. The books are styled after a Celtic knot with lots of story-lines tangled together--some seem utterly inconsequential--yet creating a beautiful pattern.
There are two books to go and I really hope that Kit manages to finish them. She's terribly frail now. - movies:
Escapism without having to turn the page. The Winter movie season is looking quite promising. I'm really looking forward to the next Harry Potter film--the trailer looks good--The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, and The March of the Penguins. - reading:
I learned to read early and I haven't stopped since. When we moved house recently, my book collection made up the majority of the boxes, despite me weeding out a huge pile for charity. - scrubs:
Scrubs is awesome. I have to admit that I loathed it in the beginning; my mind just kept screaming "Incompetent! Malpractice! Sue!", but thankfully I "get" it now.
Dr Cox's rants make my week :D - the authority:
The Authority are an almost no-holds barred superhero team, published by Wildstorm/DC. If you've ever felt frustrated by superheroes who won't kill, then this is the comic for you.
The first arc when Warren Ellis was in control still remains the best, but we still keep buying the graphic novels in the hope that the spark will return.
