allanaDefrosting a freezer takes a very long time even on a hot day (29C). I've boiled so much water this morning that I feel like I should be standing anxiously at the foot of the stairs, waiting for the cue to light up a cigar....
I wrote yesterday. About 500 half-decent words on a Foo Fighters fic. I'm amazed to discover--in the cold, rational light of day--that I actually still like most of it. Original fic seems to have deserted me recently, maybe I can lure it back when we're settled in.
Nightwing: Year One rocks. Fabulous character development. Sooner or later I'll be writing Nightwing fic, I can feel it in my bones. (Particularly one of the tiny bones in my wrist; it seems quite excited by the prospect, judging from all the aching that's going on there.)
After emptying my spice cupboard, I have discovered that I have three refill packs of ground cumin and about 60 jars of spices and herbs. The shameful thing is that I haven't cooked anything from scratch this month. *sigh*
Fairy-cakes with robots on them are yummy. As are BBQ chicken with ranch coleslaw sandwiches.

Date: 2005-08-29 04:57 pm (UTC)Seriously. I have stuff in my pantry that got transferred from the old house to the new one back in 1999. I REEEEALLLY need to go thru it and toss what's out of date before someone (Hublet) eats it and gets food poisoning. Or worse, the stuff becomes sentient...
