Hmm.  Either I've bought too many books over the last 18 months or half of the boxes we packed books in when we last moved have vanished.  Maybe we have anti-house elves?  Before I do too much more packing, I need to find some anti-histamines.  I'm beginning to wonder where the rest of the dwarves are--I'm currently playing host to both Dopey and Sneezy, so the rest should be along any minute.

Oh, house.  The landlord can't/won't make the plumbing changes that I wanted, but we're pressing onwards with the tenancy.  It's what, the 11th of August?  28 days to sort out the packing, disconnections, reconnections and all of that crap.... Definitely not enough time to faff around with looking for another house.  So, we're now waiting on another shiny set of tenterhooks while the references are being checked.  I loathe jumping through hoops at the best of times, and this loss of control really rankles with both of us.  So, we'll be in grouchy moods until they ring and tell us that we're good to go.

In fantabulously good news, Scott Sullivan got five years.  I hope he has an unpleasant cellmate.

Right.  I'm going to go and pack up all my baking equipment.  Both baking and writing are now on hiatus until we get settled in the new house....

Somehow, that fills me with a sense of...peace. Yes, peace. I like it.

Too bad about the plumbing but I think you are right to go one with it. There's not enough time and moving is a bitch. Is it something you guys can take care yourselves? Hate the idea of "improving" someone else's property myself but the idea of living without a dishwasher...*shudders* Not that I'm spoiled, just lazy. I hate washing dishes with a passion!

No baking or writing for 28 days? Ugh, I hate moving house. I'll be happy when you're settled. Of course, then it'll be time for you to start looking for a house to purchase.... IT NEVER ENDS WITH YOU, DOES IT?!?!?

Yup, he should have an interesting few years in prison ;) I feel all warm and fuzzy at the thought.

We're going to get a friend to look at the plumbing. Long story short, a new junction box would be needed to provide power for the dishwasher as there isn't a socket in the appropriate space. And if new electrics are put in for that, you'd have to have the rest of the electrics in the house checked which then brings up the potential of the landlord being forced into rewiring the whole place. Which doesn't thrill her, so no-go on that. We'll see what Andy can do once we move....

I hate washing dishes too. I guess I'll have to start washing-up as I work.

Well, I haven't baked anything interesting in a little while. And writing has been slow since I finished off Fire and Ice--you can tide yourself over with that :D And at least you're not going to lose me for months!

After a couple of months we'll make the decision about whether we buy or move back to Reading. Hopefully we'll buy. I don't think I can take another city move.

Well, a house doesn't need rewiring unless there is good reason and speaking as a landlord, I'd rather pay to have a house rewired then risk having it burn down.

But then, I'm funny that way.
