Can't sleep

allana2.18 am and I can't sleep. It's now two hours into my birthday and I already feel old. I'm somewhat cheered up by Dave pointing out that I've spent almost a quarter of my life with him, which is pretty cool!
In good news, I finished up Welt and sent it off to Andy for a thorough beta-ing. I think things got a bit uneven towards the end. Hopefully it isn't too bad. I've had some thoughts for the third and final part and I've even come up with an overall name for the trilogy. Well, two names: S&M or Manipulation. I'm leaning towards Manipulation but that might give things away a bit too easily? At the same time, S&M creates false impressions. Hrm. Now all I need to do is check that I can indeed rename the original piece (Shiner) and then add Welt as chapter two.
What else? Oh, I'm going to bake a birthday cake when I eventually crawl out of bed (presuming I do actually make it back to bed). I've had my eye on the Malteasers Chocolate Cake from Nigella's Feast ever since I got it in November. Plus! The actual sponge only uses 15g (1 tablespoon for the Americans) of butter. Admittedly the butter icing uses 125g (8 tbsp) of butter, but that's split over an 8" cake. It's practically diet-food! I might even dig out my cake stand and actually write on my food blog again. That'll be a novelty; I've been neglecting it since before Christmas.
I think I'll go read some fanfic and then crawl back into bed. Hopefully I'll be able to sleep this time!
