This just popped up on my Yahoo newsfeed: US sees an increase in adult spelling contests. Kinda timely, eh?

The geek within me would love to have a go :D

It's a good thing to know how words like "trouvaille," "odylic," or
"milleflori" are spelled as long as they also remember how to write "friend" and "writting" and "of course".
