(no subject)

Phew! Just back from the hospital...what an adventure! They've moved the Path Lab, so I had to hare around the hospital to find it; by the time I got there, I was number 35 in the queue and thus had to wait for an hour. Now, I'm not good at having blood taken, especially when it's by someone I don't know, so this only served to work me up even more. *sigh* In comparison, X-ray was a doddle, and quite fun actually....

In the main waiting room, they had a program called "Mirror Signal Manoeuvre" on the TV, which, as the name suggests, was about learning to drive. OMG! There was a woman who was a day away from her test, after 153 lessons, who still hadn't mastered manoeuvres and hated turning right. She made me look like a natural driver! Ooooh, it's on at 0915 daily--should be good for a laugh :D

On the way home, I stopped off in Virgin Records and stumbled across a copy of Northern Exposure Season Two which I promptly snapped up. They've changed the soundtrack though, to avoid playing royalties for the songs they originally used. Unsurprisingly, this hasn't made the DVD any cheaper. Season Two has less episodes than Season One... and was more expensive. Amazing, eh?

ETA. The letter from the letting agency arrived. Yay! Definitely no penalty clause. Thank fuck for that. I can now go back to looking at property in Bristol. There are some nice houses for sale just now which we can actually afford. I'm in shock!

Referrer stats and ego stroking

I finally updated my food blog today. Go me! I'm having trouble thinking up food projects to bake/make/cook, though. Will have to stick my thinking cap on. At the moment, all I can think of is something nutmeggy in honour of our impending wedding anniversary. Suggestions for what you'd like to see on the blog are very welcome :D

After doing that, I decided to check my referrer stats and found that folks are using my recipes and enjoying them! I particularly liked this mention:

People are also craving my Scottish Butter Tablet, and after looking at the picture again... I quite fancy making some. Thankfully the combined screams from my teeth and hips have put me off that for a little while longer. It hasn't been that long since I made a batch for Dave's birthday. Tablet is good... but murderous on teeth and figure.

I'm also getting some hits from obscure corners of the world. Reunion Island, New Caledonia, Greenland, Madagascar, and my very first hit from Iraq. The stats whore within me is absolutely delighted :D
