So... for the last couple of years I've had a weird almost-numb patch on the top of my right foot.

I've mostly been okay with it... it was a nice reminder not to be so fucking stupid.  I mean, how stupid do you have to be to fall over an extremely large toy, fuck up your back and crack yourself a good one on the head in one fell swoop?  Followed even more dramatically the next day by cartwheeling down the stairs just as you snap, "Be careful, otherwise you'll fall" to your small child, who must surely be part mountain-goat. The almost-numb bit was a hangover from the resulting two-week long compression of my sciatic nerve, and since then I've been pretty good at not falling over dramatically or even ironically.

But of late, that little weird bit has been getting bigger, and now the whole top of my foot feels like that.  There are edges to it, and if I scratch over them I can feel the difference between normal foot and weird foot.  And there's a bit on the back of my calf which is going the same way, too.  And then there's the All-New! thing going on with the front of the ankle joint where it hurts every time I flex my foot.  Joyous.

The upshot of this whinge is that I am getting an MRI to look for nerve compression, damage and whatnot.  I'd be thrilled if it was something easily fixed, but since my GP went oooooh, interesting, I suspect I am doomed.

(I can't believe that it'll take 10 days for the results!  House always has a diagnosis mid-MRI!!)
